I grew up in a small town on the coast of Maine with a dream of going west. After receiving my B.A. in Philosophy and Media Studies from Scripps College, I am now based in San Clemente where I am a freelance writer for The Inertia and the surf columnist for the San Clemente Times.
I also work for Matt Warshaw at the Encyclopedia of Surfing where I work to preserve and document surf history.
Last year I travelled full time, documenting surfing in places such as the North Shore of Oahu, Southern Costa Rica, California, Mexico, and Indonesia.
Previously, I was a Staff Writer at Powder and a Deputy Editor at The Surftime Journal in Bali, Indonesia.
In 2023 I was selected as one of five finalists for the Follow The Light Surf Photography Grant Program.
In my free time, I enjoy logging, grazing farmer’s markets, and volunteering as a poetry reader at Kelp Journal.
